Stopped off here on the way to Neist Point. The gardens are a nice little walk, and the castle is good but doesn't allow photography. The main event here was the boat trip to see the seals (an extra £7.50 per adult). The boat is tiny, and the water can be choppy. Depending on how you feel about that you'll either have a brilliant time or 25 minutes running over what you'll do in the event of a capsize. I may have been closer to the latter, but the seals really were brilliant to see. We sailed very close to the them, got some good photos, and gave my daughter her first chance to get so close to seals. "Woof woof," she said...
Interesting place if you enjoy clan history. The castle has a number of interesting rooms and details of the clan chiefs through the years. Try pick a dry day and take in the gardens.

Fantastic accommodation. Very friendly hosts and superb breakfast
We booked into Hillstone Lodge as its stones throw away from The Three Chimneys where we had a special lunch planned. The house is situated with a perfect view over Loch Dunvegan, and you can see Dunvegan Castle from the comfort of your bed thanks to the huge glass doors leading onto the deck. Quite simply, Andreas and Marlies have exquisite taste and this reflects throughout the guestrooms. Our room was spotless, with a sumptuous bed and soft white robes at our disposal. The bathroom is a work of art, and the large overhead shower a delight. A hardwood floor throughout the house compliments and accents the rugged landscape which you have to drive through to get to this destination. A small touch but a welcome change was a Nespresso machine in each room. There's even a decent selection of TV channels and a dvd collection in the living room which you can help yourself to. Breakfast takes place in the open plan room next to the living room, and was nothing short of perfection. We both opted for the smoked haddock, poached egg and wilted spinach with a butter sauce. Simply excellent. This is remote area of Skye, perhaps 15 minutes off a main road from Dunvegan, but this is the appeal of staying somewhere like this. We drove to the nearby Neist Point Lighthouse but unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse, so favouring our lives over the sights up chose to head back. But I've been told a must see for better days. You'd struggle to find a guesthouse this good anywhere in the world, so Hillstone Lodge at £105 (weeknight) has to be the best deal on Skye.
