The Three Chimneys and The House Over-by

Colbost House, B884, Dunvegan, Colbost, Isle of Skye IV55 8ZT, UK – 01470 511258

I highly recommend this place. My wife and I have a number of dietary requirements and the restaurant was able to accommodate them all gracefully. A custom menu was prepared for us and we were made to feel very welcome. The service really is excellent without being stuffy. That isn't always an easy feat to pull off but this restaurant accomplishes it. I've got to the third paragraph without mentioning the food. It is fantastic. You'll be in safe hands.

One of the highlights of our recent trip to Skye, my wife and I celebrated our July Birthdays here. We indulged in the Tastes of the Island curated menu with associated wine pairings. Eight courses of heaven! Our wonderful waiter brought us these thoughtful deserts afterwards. Thank you to Scott Davies and his gracious staff. Truly a birthday to remember.

Dunvegan Castle & Gardens

MacLeod Estate, Dunvegan House, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye IV55 8WF, UK – 01470 521206

Stopped off here on the way to Neist Point. The gardens are a nice little walk, and the castle is good but doesn't allow photography. The main event here was the boat trip to see the seals (an extra £7.50 per adult). The boat is tiny, and the water can be choppy. Depending on how you feel about that you'll either have a brilliant time or 25 minutes running over what you'll do in the event of a capsize. I may have been closer to the latter, but the seals really were brilliant to see. We sailed very close to the them, got some good photos, and gave my daughter her first chance to get so close to seals. "Woof woof," she said...

Interesting place if you enjoy clan history. The castle has a number of interesting rooms and details of the clan chiefs through the years. Try pick a dry day and take in the gardens.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.
